Project 64: Out of the Box | Tan

Wow! I guess its been 10 days since I've posted anything! It's been a little crazy around here lately. We've been traveling around PA over the last three weekends to the girls' gymnastics competitions. This weekend will be our fourth in a row! This is our last meet of the season, they both will be competing at States. We are excited for both of them, they've worked so hard! But, it will certainly be so nice to have a break from meets for awhile though!


I am pretty excited ... I purchased Photoshop CS5 about a week or two ago. I haven't found too much time to play around with it, but with using Kim Klassen's video tutorials, recommended by Alicia of Project Alicia, I have learned how to apply texture! I bought this cute little cream and sugar pottery set on a trip I made to Israel to visit my best friend a few years back. I LOVE this set. The creamer, of course, goes in the top and the base is the sugar dish. 


I didn't have much time, as we needed to get on the road, but I thought I'd try adding a little texture to this photo in Photoshop.  I could probably do so much better if I had more time, but it can only get better from here, right?!

Project 64: Out of the Box | Red Orange

This week our PTO hosted a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for our middle school teachers. We chose bright spring colors to brighten everyone's spirits. Everything turned out wonderfully and I think the teachers truly felt appreciated. 



I chose one of the red-orange Gerber Daisies for this week's Project 64 entry. Hope it brightens your day too!

Project 64: Out of the Box | Sky Blue

I thought these beads were a great match for sky blue this week. They are part of my daughter's beading kit. She could spend hours at a time beading bracelets and necklaces.

Another last minute entry, this time for yellow. We are on our way out the door to a gymnastics meet for M. We are looking forward to watching her compete. Have a great weekend! 

Project 64: Brown.

I found a great match for this week's color right on my windowsill. This particular vase and the one behind it were special gifts from my best friend. She previously lived in Israel and brought these back for me on one of her return trips to America.  

Project 64: Blue Green

My photo this week is a favorite of mine. Its a treasure I bought in Key West last year. 

I'm crazy for jewelry, especially rings, and I love finding a special ring during our travels.

Project 64: Strawberry.

So nothing like being last minute! But ... between a whirlwind trip to Texas for a family wedding last weekend and recovering from a miserable cold, I almost forgot to post my entry for Project 64 this week. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find something strawberry-colored in our home, but yep, it was. I finally found my match as I rooted through our bottles of nail polish. So, here is my last minute entry. 

Project 64: Green.

 After a holiday hiatus, we are back on at Project 64. 

This week's color (week 50, if you can believe it) - Green!

Here are a few leftover green sprinkles from Christmas.

Project 64: Black

Wow!! It's been awhile since I've posted!! 

It's been so crazy as of late, I'm 

not really sure if I'm coming or going. 

Anyway, I wanted to take a few minutes to post to 

Project 64 this week. 

My daughter's birthday was this past Sunday. We

 decided to take her to the Big Apple.We had the 

most wonderful time ... Christmas was 

definitely in the air! 

For my black entry, I took this photo of the Empire State Building when we first arrived.

There really is nothing like being in New York City 

at Christmas time!

Project 64: Purple Mountains Majesty

Project 64: Dandelion.

This is one of my favorite fall photos I've taken. 

I captured these bittersweet berries just 

before they burst open. 

There is not too much color left here now. Most of the brilliance is gone. What was yellow, orange or red is now mostly brown. You can find a bit of color here and there. 

My girls and I went for a hike this weekend with my 

mom and sister and I was fortunate enough to spot
a few bold colors, such as these yellow tree 
branches. I couldn't get too close as they were 
fully engulfed in briars. 

And then there was this yellow leaf amidst 

all the brown, dried out leaves.

Lastly, my sister's coat was the most 

delicious shade of yellow, a perfect match for dandelion.

She was our fearless leader on our trek. She remained 

focused and kept us moving as 3/5 of us tended to 

lolligag (snapping photos and collecting pine cones, 

acorns, tree branches and other such treasures).

the necklace was mine!!

Pieces of Autumn

 Well, it's been a busy week. I FINALLY had a chance 

to sit down and upload my photos. It's been crazy, 

full of projects and field trips, in addition to all the 

regular activities that constitute our normal week. We even had to cancel horseriding in order to accomplish all 

that was necessary.  

However, I was fortunate enough to chaperone

my daughter's field trip to a local camp for the day. What

an awesome day we had! It was loaded with team building exercises. The students had to work together toward a common goal. It was great to watch as they 
problem-solved together. 

After lunch, we took a hike up the "rigorous" trail. 

I have to admit, our breathing was a bit labored by the 

time we reached the top, but it couldn't have been more 

lovely. The sun was shining, the colors were brilliant

and the kids seemed exhilarated. Our guide had us 

stop to look for some "wildlife". One student found 

this tiny little tree frog. 

And we found several chameleons hiding under rocks. 

  

I learned that this is a Shagbark Hickory.The bark 

is so cool!

And...there are only a couple leaves left clinging to this tree.

I stopped by my favorite fruit stand this week. It's actually hard to resist stoppingthere everyday. I probably pass it at least 4, if not more, times a day. It's loaded with pumpkins and mums and all things fall. I picked up some apples and cider as well as a bagful of these little gourds. They are the perfect little Autumn treasures. 

Also, what a surprise I had when I checked out Project 64 

last weekend to see that I was the favorite for the weekly challenge!!! I am so honored and I wanted to thank 

all who voted this week. You're all great!

Autumn Coloring.

The colors really started to pop

this week in PA. I think we might be hitting

the height of color. I took a 

few minutes yesterday to photograph some 

of the color around my yard.

The seed pods from my Magnolia tree turned a 

beautiful blush color.

I caught sight of this bittersweet while out on my 

walk yesterday. I captured it just before their 

golden yellow husks burst open to reveal the

 orange/red jewel inside.  

And today, some bittersweet already bursting open.
