We Threw My Sister Her Bridal Shower!

Consider yourself warned! :) This is a photo-heavy post!

This weekend was my sister's bridal shower. It's been so fun to plan these past few months, but it was even more fun to finally have it. I think everything came together perfectly! The shower was held in a local coffee house. The theme: a coffee and dessert bar. The desserts were awesome, the coffee & location were perfect and my sister received some amazing gifts to start off her marriage.

I thought I'd share a bit of my prep work and then some photos from the shower itself ...

Invitation Making ...

I announced several months ago that my sister is engaged! Wahoo!! (If you missed it, you can view some of the photos from their engagement session here.)  I'm so looking forward to her wedding and the time is drawing closer with every passing day. We are starting to plan her bridal shower now and I'm so excited about it! I can't give away any specifics yet - since I just mailed the invitations today - but here is a peek before they were fully assembled.

I'm not the craftiest person around, but I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out. I used Photoshop and some of my favorite fonts to make the invitation itself. I'm a simple girl, I like simple colors and clean lines, so its nothing too fancy.  I did add a piece of Washi tape to each one to give it a little extra pop.

My oldest daughter has been furiously studying all week for her finals, which she is finishing today. I wasn't even the one studying and I'm glad they are over! ha ha. We are so ready for a relaxing three-day weekend.

Enjoy your weekend!

Hugs,

Not So Wordless Wednesday: Our Nephew Got Married

Two weeks ago, my husband and I flew to Texas to celebrate our nephew, J's, wedding to a most wonderful girl ... also J. The rehearsal dinner was a lot of fun - done Texas style - complete with family members sharing wonderful memories and loving words about the couple.

Family members from left to right - bride and groom's fathers, groom's grandparents with J&J, bride's father and brother.

Groom's great-grandfather on mother's side and paternal grandfather sharing a moment.

And finally, the big day! The groom awaits his bride.

And the bride just couldn't be any lovlier.

First kiss as husband and wife.

I just love the way she's looking at her father.

The bride's beautiful family.

The groom's family.

The groom's grandparents, also my in-laws.

The facility was gorgeous, everything was absolutely perfect!

My husband and I with friends, S & J.

It was great to catch up with family and friends we haven't seen for awhile as well as meet and get to know some of the sweetest people ever!

The bride and groom made their exit through cheers and sparklers.

Welcome to the family J! And congratulations to both of you!! We are so glad to have shared in this very special wedding celebration!
