I've been radio silent here for a few weeks - I'm excited to say I've been busy with multiple photo shoots and editing not to mention all the holiday prep. We had Thanksgiving here this year, so I was in charge of the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cleaning. :) After dinner we all watched Elf, one of our favorite Christmas movies. It was a truly a fabulous day spent with family. I'm hoping you all had a wonderful holiday filled with lots of turkey and time spent with family as well.
The passing of the Thanksgiving holiday marks the official start to the Christmas season! I took these photos after the Christmas card photo shoot I had with my girls last weekend. I can't give away any of the photos until after I send out my cards, but you can get a tiny peek into our set up.
It's snowing here in the northeast today. So I'm just catching up on some more photo editing, right in front of the fire with a nice bowl of hot Turkey soup. Stay warm and I hope you all have a great week. :)

Autumn's Glory is Fading ...
Today marks the finale of the Nurture Photography photo challenge with Rebecca of Bumbles & Light and Kristi of Live and Love Outloud. We started the challenge with green ... when there was but a hint of autumn to be found. Then, slowly as each week passed a new color was introduced and Nature began showing her brilliance. Now, as we close this challenge, much of the color as faded, trees are mostly bare and the days are shorter and colder. Autumn is winding down and Winter is beginning to set in. I've enjoyed this challenge and love seeing what Autumn looks like to so many others in this country and around the world.
And here are my photos ... I've introduced a few new ones as well as included a few of my favorites from the past few weeks.
"Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all." -Stanley Horowitz
Happy fall to all of you!

Brown
We seem to have an abundance of brown now. The grass remains green, but most of the brilliant colors of fall are gone. You can still see a few red and yellow leaves clinging to the bare branches here and there.
The leaves that were once vibrant are now browning and beginning to dry out.
I found all these acorns lying on the ground beneath an oak tree. I gathered them up and brought them indoors to add to my fall decor.
They are fun to look at. Some are big, some tiny. Some with "hats", some without.
Cute little nuts ... winter food for a squirrel or a seed waiting to be planted and grown into a mighty oak.
The acorn ... a sure sign of Autumn.
(The beautiful texture I used in these photos is 1 Artisan Decorative Paper by 2lilowls. You can find this texture as well as two more beautiful freebies here.)
Happy Friday!

I Heart Faces | Orange
i thought i'd share a favorite from a recent shoot i
did of this little princess at the pumpkin patch. she was on the move - so little time and so many new things to explore. somewhere between feeding the goats and picking out a pumpkin, she took a few moments to play in the leaves, tossing them in the air. what a fun day we had!

Raegan
Isn't she a beauty? This gorgeous 2-year-old lives out-of-state but comes to town with her parents on occasion to visit grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. She was the subject of my very first photo shoot ever! You can see how much she's grown in a year's time.
The shoot almost didn't happen as their time was limited and the morning we planned to shoot was rainy. But after her nap, the rain stopped and we were able to meet for an hour at a local pumpkin patch. There was so much for her to see and I had so much fun following (sometimes running) after her and documenting her exploration as well as reconnecting with mom and dad. I even captured a few shots of them ... they are expecting a new little one in December!! Yay, a new addition to this beautiful family!
Hoping your week is going well.
